Sorrow; The Sparrow & The Willow Tree
I walked into that space of time and place
where trees grow tall, and there was no one
-no one at all.
Where silence was complete and perfectly still
Where the sun was blocked
Where darkness filled
I screamed so deep it echoed through my walls
It echoed down the halls
Until there was no echo
-no echo at all.
I crumbled apart poured
into a bottomless pit poured
into an empty well
where no one knew to find me
it was my daily hell
spent and hollowed Sorrow laid facedown
my hands and fingers searched the forlorn ground.
I pulled and dug and ached aloud once more deafening silence melted into my shattered core
…and I can’t breathe
…and I can’t be.
Then thunder boomed and roar
it seem
to have awaken
the Sparrow and the Willow Tree.
In my dirt stained palms roots appear
and the Sparrow whispered, you will see.
One breath in… one breath out
was the only sound
it was just me.
